Hannah Bennett, our missionary to South Africa

My name is Hannah Bennett from Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania. I had the wonderful privilege of growing up in a Christian home with parents who made sure that I knew the importance of being in church and knowing the Lord. At the age of 5, while attending Christian School, I realized my need as a sinner to ask for forgiveness of the Lord and accepted Him as my personal Savior.

I was baptized at the age of 11 years of age. When I was 16-years-old, I went through some physical struggles that required many tests, treatments, and major surgery. It was through this time of trial that I realized the need to really give my life over to the Lord and allow Him to have complete control. I have worked as a Registered Nurse for approx. 13 years in the United States specializing in Obstetrics, Labor & Delivery, Pediatrics, and Neonatal Intensive Care.

Since accepting the call to South Africa, I have always wanted to start prenatal and postnatal clinic work with expectant mothers and their infants. The clinic would include screening for pregnancy related complications, offer “crisis pregnancy” counselling and guidance through difficult decisions facing unexpected pregnancy and screening for problems in the newborn. It is through this ministry that I hope to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the women and children of South Africa. In January of 2020, I moved to Port Elizabeth, South Africa, to join the Little Fish Ministries team. Along with medical missions, I am actively involved at Abundant Life Baptist Church in teaching Sunday School, soulwinning and discipleship, and music ministries, orphan care, intern mentorship, and more. It is a delight to work with LFM in reaching our community with the gospel!
